Moving and Movie

Bird perched on a sun umbrella in the Florida Keys.
Today was moving day. We left Sugar Loaf Key KOA at 11 a.m. When we reached Marathon, we stopped for lunch with Dan and Dave at the Wooden Spoon. Then we hit the road, with Mel driving the RV and me driving the Jeep. Since I was by myself, I played tunes of my youth-Mamas and Papas and Crosby, Stills & Nash. Where has the idealism of we, the baby boomers, gone? We thought we could change the world. What happened?
We arrived at Larry and Penny Thompson Memorial Park in Dade County, outside of Miami at 4:30 p.m. The park is adjacent to the Miami Zoo and we feel like we are on the savanna. We'll let you know if we see any wild animals.
One thing that we appreciate about the state of Florida is the county park systems, not only the state parks. Every so often we find a county-operated RV campground. They are beautiful, unique and cheap. What is not to like?
Once we settled in, we found a beautiful mall, think Northbrook Court, where we ate dinner at a Nicaraguan steak house. Then, we went to see Memoirs of a Geisha, better than the critics said.
Now we are looking forward to some downtime. We have been on the run since the holidays and enjoyed every minute but now we have time to relax for a while.
