Exploring Cape Cod

We started our day with lunch at Red Robin, where we were served by a wonderful waiter, Nick, who had interned at Disney World. We had such fun with him and he, too, gave us great travel ideas as we continue our adventure.
Then, we started on a circle tour, heading south to Wareham, MA, driving along the coast and back into the Cape Cod area, then back to Plymouth.
Above is a photo capturing what I believe is the best of Cape Cod. If you enlarge the photo, you can see a sand beach with umbrellas, yachts and houses dotting the coast. Once we got off the main roads, we drove wonderful winding roads that took us from town to town with glimpses of the ocean here and there.

This railroad bridge over the Cape Cod Canal dominates the Buzzard Bay skyline. We could see it for miles and couldn't figure out what it was. A local explained that ships in the canal have the right of way. The railroad bridge had to be elevated to accomodate the ships-an engineering marvel!

Mel insisted that I include this photo. I guess the owners are celebrating Christmas in July. Mel was so intrigued that he actually turned around and then stopped on the road so I could take this photo. These folks have a great sense of humor.

Here is a photo of those winding roads along the ocean. Mel had a great time negotiating these roads. They really put his driving skills to the test. It would have been fun to take these curves in the Jaguar convertible, but it was fun in the Jeep, too.
