Down Time

A family of raccoons frolic in the park, while mom sits in the tree.

We went to bed last night jubilant that the West Virginia miners had been found, only to wake up to the cruel news that only one man had survived. While it is a miracle that one survived, our hearts break for the families who are suffering. This story is close to my heart as I am a coal miner's granddaughter and my uncle and cousins are miners, too.

Today, we spent time catching our breaths. Since being home for Christmas, we have been on the road non-stop, especially having New Year's fun in Key West. Now that we are in such a lovely campsite, we decided to take a breather, starting off with laundry, using the campsite facilities. This afternoon, we took in another movie, Fun With Dick and Jane, which took a wonderful swipe at the likes of Enron, World Com, HealthSouth, etc. Afterwards, we went to Publix, think Jewel, and finally have in-house provisions so we don't have to eat out for every meal. Then, I spent a good part of the evening swapping out winter and summer clothes, however, the weather report just said that another cold front is coming through and Tampa may see snow flurries. Yikes!
