Robert Is Here Fruit Stand

Posted by Picasa

An emu, tortoise, burro and goats seen at the "Robert Is Here" Fruit Stand. No, I don't know how it got it's name.

After lunch in Florida City, FL and a stop at Walmart for bananas, green grapes, peaches, sponge cakes and whipped cream for strawberry shortcakes, we continued our tour of the agriculture area. We saw palm tree farms as opposed to the Christmas tree farms we see up north. There were fruit, vegetable and flower farms, too.

We ended our tour at the "Robert Is Here" Fruit Stand that had a little petting zoo. We loaded up on Indian River grapefruit, oranges and tangerines. I, also, found Honeybelles. We will have enough fruit to last us while we are at Disney World. It is so hard to resist such good fruit when it is coming right from the fields.
Once we got home and unloaded our purchases, Mel decided it was time for another bike ride. I changed into a long sleeved shirt and jeans. We actually left the campground this time and headed into the park. We road to the picnic shelter area near the park lake. I am learning how to use my brakes.

I was glad to see Nancy on a bike...but where is Mel? You are finding the most unusual places to visit. And, I am not surprised that you are heading back to Disney. By the way, your photos are wonderful. Keep it up - those back here in the Midwest are enjoying living vicariously through your dream.
